NEW YORK â" The Virginia man accused of driving hundreds of miles to upstate New York to kill the superintendent of a small school district believed the man was having an affair with his wife, a person familiar with the investigation told The Associated Press on Saturday.
Anthony Robert Taglianetti II made the more-than-6-hour drive after intercepting a communication between the Clymer, N.Y., resident and Taglianettiâs wife, said the person, who requested anonymity because the information was not being publicly released by authorities. The two had had a romantic relationship some time ago when the Taglianettis were separated, the person said.
Authorities discovered a handgun in the car Taglianetti was driving when he was captured Friday in Virginia following a nationwide search, Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace said Saturday. The weapon will be sent for ballistics testing to discover whether it was used in the killing.
The 42-year-old Woodbridge, Va., resident was charged with second-degree murder hours after his capture, and will appear in court Monday to discuss the possibility of his extradition, Gerace said. It wasnât clear whether he had a lawyer, and a man answering the phone at a number listed under Taglianettiâs name declined to comment.
Authorities found Keith Reed Jr.âs body Monday about 150 feet from his Clymer home, where he lived alone. He apparently was shot more than once.
On Thursday, Geraceâs office said it was searching for Taglianetti in connection with the shooting. The next day, deputies with a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force found him on a rural road in the Shenandoah County area of Virginia. They had issued a description of his vehicle earlier, saying they believed it was loaded with camping and survival equipment.
Reed had been superintendent of the one-building Clymer Central School District and its 468 students since November. The small town, 70 miles south of Buffalo near Pennsylvania, has a population of about 1,500.
Reedâs funeral was held Friday at the United Congregational Methodist Church in Salamanca. His three daughters gave the eulogy, WGRZ-TV reported.

Question by hao l: What is the difference between the term "policy" and"algorithm" in the computer science field? I am currently writing a academic paper in computer science. I am confused about the usage of "policy" and "algorithm". Can anybody tell the differences?? For example, First come first serve policy a sorting algorithm... Best answer for What is the difference between the term "policy" and"algorithm" in the computer science field?:
Answer by Trish JPA and Jewish Pastafarian
The two words really have nothing to do with each other. You might need to write an algorithm to IMPLEMENT a particular policy (such as "first-come-first serve"), but otherwise, they don't have a common meaning. A policy is what you have decided to do; in a computer program, the algorithm is the group of steps you would take to make that policy happen.
