Question by living kills: What was the "closed country policy" and how did it affect Japan? Best answer for What was the "closed country policy" and how did it affect Japan?:

Answer by IamCount
European Christians came to Japan in the early 1500s and caused problems. Japanese wanted to embrace the Christian religion along with their Buddhism and Shinto. The Christian monks wanted the Japanese to switch. Words escalated into violence. The Shogun, Tokugawa, banned Christians until the late 1800s. The effect was that Japan was technologically stunted. In the late 1800s when most industrialized nations had guns, factories and steel ships, Japan still had Samurai, swords, farms and wooded boats. They found themselves needed to upgrade quickly or be conquered.

Did something awful happen to you at work, did a customer belittle you in front of a line, or did your boss under mind you in front of a customer?!? WELL I WANNA KNOW ABOUT IT! Send me a message with YOUR story (and SUBSCRIBE!) and you could be in my next cartoon :)! Animation - Suzy Berhow (Meeperfish) Voice Actors- Joshua Tomar (Tomamoto) Arin Hanson (Egoraptor) Special thanks to - Arin Hanson (Egoraptor) Danielle Donatacci Ps Yes a GROWN woman cried in front of me because i would not take her moms credit card to pay for her stupid costume jewelry. I even talked to said mom on the phone...who cursed me out and reassured me it was her card. Making me not want to take it anymore than I did before (BESIDES it was store policy not to take someones card unless they were the name on the card). Eventually the girl gave up and pulled out a wad of cash and explained to me that it was HER money and that she would rather save her money for herself and use her moms money on useless trash that she would probably wear once and then throw away....Yeah.

If you’re one of the many people who ran into technical difficulties trying to live-stream The Rumble 2012 on Saturday night, organizers of the mock debate between Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly say that the problems have been resolved and that you should try again. If you never even got around to signing up to watch or download the show in the first place, you can also still do so now.

The sold-out show at Lisner Auditorium was live-streamed over the Internet for $ 4.95, but some viewers were unable to watch, due to overloaded servers that Nox Solutions, the company hired to stream the event, blamed on “overwhelming demand.” Frustrated fans looking for their five bucks back will be eligible for a refund through the Rumble Website.
