Question by hotmail: What are your thoughts on China's "one-child-policy"? What do you think of this policy? Best answer for What are your thoughts on China's "one-child-policy"?:

Answer by tskelton155
Considering the enormous polulation of China, I feel it is a reasonable policy, although cruel in its nature. However, given the recent natural diaster, maybe they need to rethink the policy if they want to continue as a solidified nation. With thousands of children killed or missing, the parents would, if they can, want to repopulate. The future of any country lies in its children. Dr. Tommy Skelton

With the earthquake and people dead and many still traped I don't think they care about that policy.

Answer by Rebecca A
Its is good in one way but bad in another. It helps keep population down but it would be hard on someone if they want a big family.

Answer by PhilxBefore
Should be no child policy. They already have too many. I think that law may seem unfair but it has helped them greatly in their pursuit of becoming an established country as opposed to a third world developing country. The main countries that need this policy are located in Africa, where they have too many children to take care of, yet are still having kids. Think about the kids people! Not yourselves!

Answer by Joe
Reasonable.

Answer by thebigshowernie
I understand why they have the policy. They are the most overpopulated country in the entire world and they need to have a means to control the population growth so that they can have enough recources to feed everybody. I think that it has a lot of unintended effects such as female infanticide and a lot of children left up for adoption.

It should be worldwide! And the Pope should get of his a** and sanction birth control. There are way too many people on the planet, and something needs to be done about it, and the sooner the better! If nothing else, if people were forced to meet financial , mental, and medical , as well as aptitude screening before being allowed to reproduce, that would take care of a lot of our problems and then some!

Answer by sense
Not only China, but this world is over p opulated as well. China started it first. It should be applauded and rewarded. More people demands more resource, more space, more energy, therefore more burden on environment. What is more, more conflict. China's sacrifice should be recognized and rewarded.

In January 2012, two controversial pieces of legislation were making their way through the US Congress. SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act, and PIPA, the Protect Intellectual Property Act, were meant to crack down on the illegal sharing of digital media. The bills were drafted on request of the content industry, Hollywood studios and major record labels. The online community rose up against the US government to speak out against SOPA, and the anti-online piracy bill was effectively killed off after the largest online protest in US history. But it was only one win in a long battle between US authorities and online users over internet regulation. SOPA and PIPA were just the latest in a long line of anti-piracy legislation US politicians have passed since the 1990s. "One of the things we are seeing which is a by-product of the digital age is, frankly, it's much easier to steal and to profit from the hard work of others," says Michael O'Leary, t he executive vice-president for global policy at the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). The US government says it must be able to fight against piracy and cyber attacks. And that means imposing more restrictions online. But proposed legislation could seriously curb freedom of speech and privacy, threatening the internet as we know it. Can and should the internet be controlled? Who gets that power? How far will the US government go to gain power over the web? And will this mean the end of a free and global internet? Fault Lines ...
