CHICAGO (AP) â€" U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.'s wife said Wednesday her husband is seeing his doctor two to three times a week and that she doesn't know if he will return to work before the Nov. 6 election.
Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson told reporters the congressman is eager to "get back out and do what he can" but that his physicians have directed him to "stay very calm and very quiet."
"Right now he knows he has to follow doctors' orders," she said.
She said his physicians will decide when the Chicago Democrat can return to work.
The 47-year-old congressman took a medical leave about three months ago, though his staff did not initially disclose what illness he was suffering from or where he was. It was later revealed he had been hospitalized suffering from bipolar disorder and gastrointestinal problems.
Jackson, who was first elected to Congress in 1995, left the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in August and returned to the family's home in Washington. He vowed to return to the campaign trail by Labor Day but hasn't made a campaign appearance since the spring primary election. His name remains on next month's ballot.
The family recently put its Washington home up for sale but took it off the market because people who were not serious about buying it were showing up at the house, Sandi Jackson said Wednesday.
She said the family was still trying to sell the home privately and hoped it will help cover some of Jackson's medical bills not covered by insurance.

it means by the end of the day. depending on how far into their route you are, and how many stops they have to make, it could be any time. you could be first on their route, or last, or somewhere in between... you could ask a friend or a neighbor to hang out and watch for it so they can sign for it... otherwise, contact ups, and request that you pick it up from them.

By the end of the day with UPS could mean by 5:30 or 6:00 pm. However it depends on what time deliveries usually take place in your neighborhood. On my street, the UPS guy is usually here between 1 pm and 3 pm. But has actually delivered packages to me as early as 9 am. If you are not home, they will leave a notice on your door that a delivery was attempted. Sometimes you can sign the notice and leave it on your door, and they will deliver it the next day. But there will be a number on the notice you can call.

By the end of the day means by the end of the UPS Delivery Day. In most areas it is 9am-7pm, so the package will be delivered by 7pm. However, if they have too many packages on the truck, it can be later, sometimes as late as 8pm or 9pm. Generally UPS will enter your neighborhood around the same time every day, so if you are used to receiving packages in the morning from them, it will generally come in the morning, if they usually come in the evening, it will probably be evening. If you are not home, they will make 3 total attempts to deliver your package to you before they return it to the sender. You can also call UPS and have them hold it at a local UPS Center, and you can pick it up when it's convenient for you.
