WESTMINSTER, Colo. (AP) â" Authorities looking for a 10-year-old Colorado girl who disappeared days ago after leaving for school are planning to finish scouring open fields and resume searching the fifth-grader's suburban Denver neighborhood on Tuesday.
Jessica Ridgeway was last seen Friday morning after leaving home to meet friends at a Westminster park on her way to school.
Police say the only item found so far that they can link to Jessica is her backpack. It was found on a sidewalk in a neighborhood about six miles north of her home on Sunday.
Police are asking people to be on the lookout for Jessica's distinguishing characteristics â" a small gap between her two front teeth and a sore on the top of her nose below where her glasses sit.
Question by Courtney: How come so many "country" singers sing about the legends but they dont sing like em? it irritates me that people who sing country pop sh** and country rock sing about the legends and how they grow up listening to them but then they conform to the crap thats all over the radio now. you'd think if they actually respected country music they would sing true country rather than singin what the record companies want em to. i know there are a FEW current artists who stay true to country music roots but most dont. does this upset/irritate anyone ele? Best answer for How come so many "country" singers sing about the legends but they dont sing like em?:

To pay tribute to someone dosen't mean you have to imitate them. And yes, today's country is more pop sounding, but that is what's popular. There are plenty of new, more traditional artists that no one knows about...why? Cause they aren't popular so they don't get the radio play, etc. Unfortunately, the music business works like this: If you want to be successful, you sing what sells.

Yea it does this is why I want to get in the radio business to change some things I have no idea how to get a start , a radio dj moonmullins told me bug the local radio station to get there anyways Joey allcorn 50 years to late is real country and is a great tribute to the past artists I Paisley would do it more if he radio wouldn't stop playing his songs because on each album he has a traditional song In the garden The old rugged cross farther along but he stopped having 1 traditional song on it anyways I think the genre needs a new name since the sound stopped being country Texas country is great

Oh it annoys me but from a totally different level. But sadly the truth is that if they don't, they will end up basically getting the same treatment that Rick Van Shelton got, and that's being blackballed by the recording industry. The recording company will want them to fulfill their contract for the number of albums agreed to, as quickly as they can. Then they will promote them with as little effort as they can, and the last one won't hardly get any promotion market wise. Then the artist isn't going to be offered a new contract, but shown the way to the backdoor, as quickly as possible, with the old line of "don't call us we'll call you," if we have an interest in doing so. Then word goes out to the other studios that they are to difficult to work with, and are prim-a-dona who demands to much. After that no major studio will want any part of them, and smaller studios are generally advised it's in their best interest financially to not agree to a contract with the singer if they want their artists to be distributed. In short the major labels has the power to call the shots, when it comes to careers in the music industry. It's not a conspiracy, but just how business is done, and the fans that the industry now specifically caters to. So does it irritate me yes, especially when everything is examined closely in combination. They are told what to sing, and how they're to sing. That this is what the fans really want, except for a small handful that are kept around to satisfy what they see as a small, and generally viewed as being of little significance fan base happy. This isn't a rant but more of an observation. Cory, there's a lot more to it than that. I trained in on air radio broadcasting, but my health to a bad turn, and made a mess of my speech, and put an end to that. The actual dj's have very little, if any say in what gets air time, and what doesn't.
